The College's Board of Regents and Dr. Valek have approved that the College will pay full-time, part-time, and student employees for the hours they were scheduled to work but for the Hurricane Laura emergency closure. Non-exempt employees (employees who submit timesheets) should submit their timesheets showing their scheduled hours during the closure period with the comment: "scheduled hours/hurricane."Additionally, this closure happens at a time when many employees are working remotely. When the College is closed due to an emergency, non-exempt employees should not continue to work remotely during the emergency closure unless they have permission from their supervisor to do so. Those non-exempt employees who work during the emergency closure with the approval of their supervisor (e.g., Campus Safety, Facilities, and I.T.) should submit a timesheet designating these work hours as additional straight time hours actually worked due to the emergency.
